As a Cuban who was born and raised in a tyrannical government, the protection of the Second Amendment is fundamental to Polo. The popular belief that the function of the Second Amendment is hunting, or protecting us against our neighbors is erroneous. Its primary function is to protect “We The People” from a tyrannical government.
The constitution is clear when it states, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, SHALL not be infringed” (James Madison). Every society developing into socialism, authoritarianism, or for that matter communism has a fundamental need to restrict or eliminate any kind of access to arms. In a society where the people have the right to keep and bear arms, the implementation of a communist regime is almost impossible. Therefore, it is paramount that we protect our Second Amendment Right to protect our society and our way of life.
Why do socialists like Maria Elvira Salazar want to prevent you from having access to keep and bear arms? The answer is contained in history and the words of some of the greatest presidents we had:
